i can't believe it's sunday already and the long weekend is nearly over! needless to say i'm still on the sweet revenge and was only able to devote a couple hours to reading. the victim's fiancee has been arrested as a suspect, and goldy the caterer is tossing thoughts in her mind; as she does this, she prepares to cook! i love it cause everything she puts together sounds so yummy. while talking to the suspect (before she was arrested)in her kitchen, goldy prepares her gingerbread that would serve as prizes for a cookie exchange she's catering (the cookies the ladies of the aspen meadow garden club are exchanging are all being made by goldy and her right-hand man, julian!). my mouth waters as she lists the ingredients: unsalted butter, dark molasses, sour cream, dried ginger, grated gingerroot and freshly ground black pepper - all to make a "soft, cakelike variety of gingerbread, the kind you topped with lemon sauce or vanilla ice cream or, if you were feeling teddibly teddibly chichi, creame fraiche." fortunatley, the recipe for this 'door-prize gingerbread' is included in the recipe section of the book - and i'm suddenly hungry for gingerbread!
on the knitting front, i'm at the toe of the first hedgerow sock and feeling a bit more comfortable with the continental style knitting. maybe i'll give the knitting socks on two circulars a try for the next sock. this pair will be for me as it's been slow going and i've become rather attached to it....
tomorrow's a holiday and i plan to continue the reading and knitting and catching up on some of my korean dramas that i've dvr'd during the week. hope you all have a peaceful martin luther king day....
